Here's my entry for the Artisan Crafts Club "Bring Out the Trash" contest!
Materials: -1 office copy machine mother board (pillaged from the dumpster when Xerox moved out of our office building). -3 various little computer circuit boards (pillaged from the trashed when our office had it's spring cleaning day) -3 sets of led mini lights and one battery pack with rechargable batteries (green, red, white; left over from my brother's roleplaying miniature sets) -2 sound to light beginners circuitry projects (2 different brands with different sensors, previously from beginners circuitry class at university almost four years ago). -1 suede leather bodice (sides/back only, previously made for an old pirate costume). -1 piece of scrap wool (for the backing) -glue sticks and glue gun from my mom's stash
So I shaped the circuit board a little, but not a lot since I didn't want the board to look too cut up. The three sets of lights are wired up separately, so they can be lit all together or one at a time. The green is a full on. Red and white can both be set to either full or sound to light flash (each is on a different sensor with different settings, so red tends to flash to bass sounds, white to treble sounds). It's kind of mesmerizing to turn on the radio and watch your clothes flash to the beat.
If I'd had a little more time, I would have added some more lights and maybe a hat with a speaker in it. It was fun to make though and it's even more fun to wear. Hopefully I'll get a chance to wear it at a club night sometime soon.

A penny for your thoughts and giving your two cents in.... the proverbial rip-off. "Here's the story of a brother by the name of Othello/ he dug white women and he liked.... green jello...."
I was thinking the same thing. I've got a stash of all sorts of colored wires from an electrician friend of my mom's, but I couldn't find it yesterday (nothing like last minute projects, right?). I'll have a bit of a play with wires when I find it, and add some more lights too!
I've got lots of spare circuit boards from when our office did spring cleaning and trashed all their old computers, so I think I'll make a panel skirt and a little top hat with a speaker in it!
Tee hee hee Make some matching jewelry too! Like some cute earrings or a pendant necklace or somethin' XD I keep wanting to take apart a pair of old jump drives to make earrings, LOL!
Verily, we are Borg. Ye shall be assimilated, wastrel.

Gold is for the mistress, silver for the maid, copper for the craftsman, cunning at his trade. "Good!" said the Baron, sitting in his hall, "But iron, cold iron, is master of them all!"
I once saw a Shakespeare play once with that sort of post modern look, and strangely enough it more or less worked. I don't usually go for that sort of updating of Ren-lit, with of course the exception of Kurosawa, which is really just transferring it East.

If only there was a way to do wire as the lacing.
