EDIT (3/10/08): I will not be finishing this piece in time for the mythological creatures contest I designed it for. However, I do plan on finishing it over the summer and possibly using the full wall hanging as a bartering tool.
Band 1 of 20(ish) for a Nordic mythology wall hanging I'm making for a contest. The hanging will tell the story of Ragnarok, and there will be three smaller hangings of Loki, Hati, and Skoll.
This band is woven from brown, maroon, and cream cotton crochet yarn. It measures 3/4"x72".
Thank you so much for the comments! I'm trying to weave at least a half hour each day, short weaves with different types of patterns. I'm planning to move onto thinner threads soon; start working on some trims for a couple of viking tunics for a trade. I'm really starting to love inkle weaving!
I wish you luck on that, in that I hope you don't burn yourself out. But short weaves produce quick results so it'll be longer before you do, if you do. Just a touch of advice on the thin threads. If you get down to sewing thread warp, be very careful. Such thin thread may split at a slightly overzealous beat or (in my case) if you sneeze when beating.
